Do these require any limiting resistors? What is the power input to each LED?
Asked by Anonymous on January 16th, 2018.
It depends on how much voltage you are running into it. Do a search for, "voltage limiter calculator."
What input voltage does it require - no product spec sheet on the site
Yeah, wish they had a spec . . I put a 500ohm on a 9v and you need sunglasses to look at it - 1k seemed too excessively dull so 680ohm to 750ohm is probably ideal for a 9v supply
LEDs are current driven devices, not voltage driven so you need to add a series resistor to run them from a voltage source. 1mA is a good value to shoot for with high brightness LEDs like these. For a 5V source, try a 3.3k resistor; for 9V try 6.8k; for 12V try 10k. If they're too bright, increase the resistance.
Product Reviews
Really bright, easy to connect.
Best LED ever so don't pass this one up!
