Product Reviews
Neat items, if you know how to use them. The hole size is actually 15/32 of an inch and not 1/2 inch. If you drill a small hole for that tab in the washer your switch will not spin or rotate inside the hole. It stays nicely straight and tight when properly installed. I have the keyed knockout for this style switch, It's a $500 tool. Using these washers and drilling small indexing holes is lot cheaper than buying a $500 keyed knockout set that only punches one size and one shape hole. There is just barely enough meat (thickness) in the cast effect's boxes to drill a VERY SHALLOW blind hole to receive that indexing tab. WARNING! You will blow through a box or two before you get the hang of it. Aluminum is soft, so use a brad point drill, and remember VERY SHALLOW! A lot of the times that white plastic washer will cover up a mistake.
