Transistor - AS194DE, Matched Pair, Alfa, SOIC-8, NPN
The AS194DE is a junction isolated ultra well-matched monolithic NPN transistor pair with an
order of magnitude improvement in matching over conventional transistor pairs. Electrical characteristics of these devices such as drift versus initial offset voltage, noise, and the exponential relationship of base-emitter voltage to collector current closely approach those of a theoretical transistor. Extrinsic base and emitter resistances are very low, giving very low noise and operating over a wide current range.
To guarantee long term stability of matching parameters, internal clamp diodes have been added across the emitter-base junction of each transistor. These prevent degradation due to reverse biased emitter current, the most common cause of field failures in matched devices.

Pedal Kit - Mod® Electronics, The Ring In Return, Octave-Up Fuzz
The Ring In Return is an octave-up fuzz effect that is an all-analog design that captures those late 60s octave-up fuzz tones. Transformer-coupled germanium diodes produce sounds that range from a subtle octave-up to thick, harmonically-rich sonic textures and synth-like tones. Experimenting with different pickups and tone-control settings on your guitar with The Ring In Return can also produce sitar-like sounds. Warning: This circuit was designed for use with a 9 VDC power supply only.

Pedal Kit - Mod® Electronics, Seismic / Shift, JFET Boost
The Seismic / Shift is a JFET boost based on one of the earliest effects to ever be used on stage. This pedal adds subtle color to a guitar's sound while maintaining the natural tone of the guitar. It packs a serious punch that can cut through any mix when soloing or whenever some extra “umph” is required. The Seismic Shift pairs nicely with amps and other pedals. Place it ahead of tubes, preamps, overdrives, distortions, and fuzz pedals to shift your gear onto a new level. The Seismic Shift pedal kit is the introduction to the Nexus Series from Mod Electronics. This series features a PCB base rather than the Mod Electronics’ traditional point-to-point wiring kits to offer builders an even wider variety of effects to build. The Seismic Shift kit is designed for all skill sets and is the perfect first build for those unfamiliar with PCB construction. The pedal operates on both 9VDC and 18VDC.

Guitar Amplifier Electronics: Fender Deluxe
by Richard Kuehnel
Many would say the Fender Deluxe design reaches its peak with the narrow-panel 5E3, becoming the ultimate tone machine for public performance and recording. The 5E3 is also the most cloned guitar amp of all time. It has an elegantly straightforward signal chain that maximizes tone and minimizes parts count, making it a favorite for kit makers and kit builders alike. In fact, there is perhaps only one other amp design that can compete with the 5E3 in terms of popularity, particularly among working musicians. Ironically, it also carries the name "Deluxe" - the blackface AB763 Deluxe Reverb.

Guitar Amplifier Electronics: Fender Bassman
by Richard Kuehnel
Fender designed the Bassman in 1952 to be an amplifier for its new Precision Bass. The amp had a 15-inch speaker with a closed back and used a pair of 5881 beam power tetrodes for lots of volume. Throughout the decade it would be modified and improved until culminating in the model 5F6-A.
