Pedal Kit - Mod® Electronics, The Persuader Deluxe, Overdrive
The Mod® Electronics Persuader Deluxe utilizes a Darlington preamp to push cascaded triode vacuum tubes into distortion.
One dual triode vacuum tube is included with each kit (JJ 12AU7). In order to experiment with your sound, you can easily swap this tube out for other compatible tubes - just plug and play!
A boost switch provides an additional layer of flexibility with added gain and a little extra bottom end. An LED indicator lights up when the Persuader Deluxe is engaged and not in true bypass mode.
Operates on a 9V battery or AC adapter, which is not included. When completed, this pedal draws considerable current and battery life will be short. The Godlyke 9-volt adapter (M-PAS-S) may be purchased separately to power your new pedal.

A cool pedal. Fun to build. The only problem I had was having to move the toggle switch to the top of the enclosure as there wasn't enough space for the toggle switch to fit into the mounting hole because the 1kl gain pot was too large and blocked the hole for the switch. The fix was simple. I drilled a new hole on the top of the enclosure on the side of the footswitch opposite the LED indicator. You have to be a bit more accurate when activating the footswitch but you can also switch the toggle with your foot now.
Other than that, the instructios are well done and the kit was really fun to build. Good soldering skills are a must. The pedal sounds really great and the abillity to switch out the various preamp style tubes allows many tonal options.
Nice kit, fun to build. I use it with a Fender J Bass - favorite tube is the 12AT7 - the selection of tubes provide a nice range of warmth/growl/texture. Build suggestion - the supplied mono 1/4 input jack was replaced with a Switchcraft version. The supplied jack, which seemed to be a different brand than the supplied stereo out jack, seated very hard and would distort. Check the operation of mounted jacks before proceeding to avoid changing it out after all the wiring is in place.
Highly recommended kit.
