Why is The Piledriver on the larger side?
Asked by Anonymous on April 27th, 2017.
The Piledriver utilizes a point to point wiring layout using terminal strips rather than a circuit board. This is done to make a step by step build easier and to help the builder learn the circuit's signal path. This method requires a slightly larger enclosure.

what type and
# resistor do you use for the add LED mod?
Asked by Anonymous on June 29th, 2020.
It will depend on the LED used. For the P-L400 led, we use a 1/2W carbon film 820 ohm resistor.

Are there any pics or videos of the LED and AC power mods? I think I can figure it out from the schematic but a pic
would be helpful. Thanks, Jon

Hey Jon. We don't have any photos of this mod. We do carry a new footswitch PCB that simplifies the wiring for these mod. It is P-PC-3PDT-BOARD. Check out the page on it here to see some wiring diagrams. https://www.tubesandmore.com/3pdt-board

This is one of the best values in a piece of gear I’ve ever purchased! I’ve even ordered the parts to build them for friends after I built the first kit. It does exactly what it’s supposed to. It’s much less noisy than a treble boost but will still get you in the same ballpark if the tone on your amp is adjusted properly. It really works great for getting good overdrive in Blackpanel Fenders and Vox amps. Any low gain amp would take this boost well ,really! Just buy it if you’re on the fence. If you have experience building pedals or amps. You’ll have this kit done in a couple hours. Easy peasy! The LED and DC jack mods are a must for me so I’d just go ahead and order the parts for those mods when you order the kit. Thanx ,MOD👍😃
great boost for bass that can be installed onboard. just change .1uF cap to 1uF. you gotta install a socket for the BS170 and try out several because the specs are inconsistent. don't get them from Asia because they are counterfeits
Super easy kit to build, did exactly what was expected. Can't beat this kit for the price.
