Product Reviews
I thought this was a great kit. Great tone. Very full sounds. Fun to build. I used solid core wire which makes it very easy to build at supposedly the expense of long term durability but I don’t have problems.
I purchased this kit on impulse as a gift for a buddy. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much. Most pedal kits I've bought in the past (not from MOD kits) arrived with cheap parts and ended up sounding cheap. Turns out the kit was really fun to build, only took a few hours, and sounds killer. I ended up not using the wire that came with the kit because I don't like having to strip and tin every piece of wire. I opted for some vintage style solid core cloth wire I had laying around the shop. The instructions were overly detailed for me and I ended up not using them, but probably great for someone not familiar with basic electronics. A schematic would have been nice, but the wiring diagrams delivered a functional pedal for me so no biggie. The component design is well laid out and I had no trouble fitting everything with room to spare. My only complaint is that the painted enclosure arrived with some light scuffs and scratches, probably from bouncing around in a mail truck. But for the price it's a steal. I will definitely be building more of these for Christmas gifts.
