Potentiometers are used to control volume and tone. A potentiometer is a three-terminal resistor with a sliding or rotating contact that forms an adjustable voltage divider. Check out our Tech Corder articles on pots, including Potentiometer Types.
CTS Linear, Long Shaft 3/4 in. bushing, split knurled shaft, 3/8 in. bushing diameter. Great in guitars that have a thicker carved top (ex. Les Paul) where added bushing length is required.
The Super Pots from Dunlop are high quality, high performance, volume and tone pots designed and built to last a lifetime. These pots are resistant to dust and corrosion so they will provide smooth performance without the noise and scratchiness associated with normal run of the mill pots. Dunlop tested these pots past the 7 million turn mark. With results like that, these may be the last pots you ever have to put in your instrument.

250 kΩ ohm. Original TBX tone control for most Strats and Teles. CTS manufactured, includes capacitor and comes in original Fender® packaging. Some instruments have a unique tone circuit that features a TBX Tone Control (Patented). The TBX (which stands for Treble Bass Expander), is a dual concentric stacked tone pot. The pot has a detent in the middle position. From 0 to 5 (at the detent), the TBX functions like a normal tone circuit with filtration through a capacitor. Advancing the knob counterclockwise from the detent position gradually filters off high frequencies, like a standard tone control. Rotate the knob clockwise from the detent position, and you add presence and brightness by allowing the pickups' natural resonance to come through. Fender part number: 099-2052-000
