The Mod Electronics Reverb Tanks are high quality upgrade units. Some of the major differences between the Mod®s and other reverb tanks are that the Transducers are wired directly to their respective RCA jacks as opposed to current production tanks where Transducers are connected by a detachable plug to their respective RCA jacks. This makes the tanks less receptive to any outside interference. The original Hammond Accutronics tanks from the 1960s were also wired directly to their respective RCA jacks. In addition, very close attention has been paid to the spacing and size of the lamination of the Transducers resulting in a more vintage like tone.

I would definitely recommend the MOD tanks from the description you're giving me in terms of desired tone. They sound much more like the tanks from the 60's than other modern production tanks.

Unfortunately, what I was expecting. Sound is nothing like original 4AB3C1C(B) models, if that is the goal to achieve. Dwell is exceedingly long plus the unit generates a low level hum when brought up 3/4 in the mix. I have several older really fantastic sounding U.S.A Accutronic tanks that when performing a side by side comparison the originals were indisputably far superior. I bought this product (as well as several other brands) as a curiosity after reading so many disappointing reviews of what is available on the market. The unit will remain in my stockroom if ever a need.
