The MOD® Reverb Tanks are high quality upgrade units. Some of the major differences between the MOD®s and other reverb tanks are that the Transducers are wired directly to their respective RCA jacks as opposed to current production tanks where Transducers are connected by a detachable plug to their respective RCA jacks. This makes the tanks less receptive to any outside interference. The original Hammond Accutronics tanks from the 1960s were also wired directly to their respective RCA jacks. In addition, very close attention has been paid to the spacing and size of the lamination of the Transducers resulting in a more vintage like tone.

From our brief research, The 79-201-02 is a replacement for an 8BB2C1A reverb tank. This 4BB3C1B will have a different mounting plane and will need to be mounted open side down. The original tank was mounted open side up. If you are looking for a direct replacement we recommend the 8BB2C1A.

Yes but you will need to make sure you have enough room for the new tank as it is 16.75" in length. If you do not have enough room, you could use an 8BB3C1B. This is the same size as the 1BB3C1B but with three springs instead of two. Do a search for SKU: P-RMOD-8BB3C1B.

Are you sure about the 'S' in 4BB3S1D? Could it be a B? We are not familiar with 4BB3S1D but all thing being equal, as long as the second and third character are the same then the tanks should be compatible.

Yes, the input and output impedance match, the only differences between the two tanks is the 4BB3C1B will have a long decay time (the 4BB2C1A having medium decay) and the 4BB3C1B is meant to have the open side down where the 4BB2C1A is meant to have the open side up.

I replaced the reverb tank after the original one quit working. I installed the MOD, 4BB3C1B
In the Fender Blues Deluxe, and the sound was great, even better than the accutronics tank.
Great product, and excellent service from Antique Electronic Supply.

Very well-made replacement tank! Returned clarity and harmonics to the wet signal! Acoustic-decoupling grommets provide great isolation to prevent hypersensitive "thunder!"

HIGHLY recommend for anyone considering a reverb tank upgrade/replacement!
