I had a BIG problem with this transformer. I took the number 125P7D from the original unit on the Blackface Bandmaster, which was stamped in the metal.

The HAMMOND 290EEX does NOT have a center tap access point on the 6.5 VAC filament supply. The original transformer DOES HAVE this tap, which is wired to ground.

Not having this center tap on the HAMMOND transformer causes an unwanted, unacceptable 60HZ hum from the amplifier.

Once diagnosed, however, it IS possible to add a "virtual centertap" using extra wiring and components.

Summing up, the HAMMOND transformer should note this deviation from the 125P7D original transformer.
