This Kluson® 6-in-line tuning machine set has oval metal (butter bean-shaped) buttons and the improved 15:1 gear ratio for more stable and accurate tuning. The housing and button style are period correct for 1965 - 1969 production dates. These feature the Kluson® Safety Post. This set comes complete with 6 bass side tuners, 8.8mm O.D. vintage bushings with 1/4 inch inner diameter and mounting screws needed for installation.

Finding the right aftermarket tuners that match up with your guitar's mounting hole pattern can be a guessing game and if your new tuners don't match, you're stuck drilling new holes, filling the old holes and screwing in the new tuners. That's why Hipshot made the UMP™ (Universal Mount Plate). The UMP™ is a patent pending adapter plate that fits between your Hipshot tuners and the headstock of your guitar. Tabs on the face of the plate prevent the tuners from slipping against the headstock. At the same time, reach nuts inserted through the existing headstock holes into the tuners keep the whole assembly securely in place.

Machine heads without a sealed gear are criticized for not having the same smooth performance, efficiency and durability that sealed gear tuners have. The SD series solves these problems by combining "Rock-solid" technology and the post collar or: "Self-Center Guide", found on enclosed gears in the base plate of the gear allowing the post to perfectly align itself with the bushing which attaches the gear to the headstock. The SD series uses a torque balancer to ensure steady rotation of the tuner button giving high quality sound performance as well as great functionality. American Series tuners for Fender® guitars, 6-in-a-line, staggered

Vintage style diagonal mount tuning machine set featuring a solid metal Schaller-style knob and are finished in chrome.
