The JJ Electronic 12AT7 / ECC81 is a good choice for phase inverters, reverb drivers, and general preamp use. This tube offers low noise, low microphonics, and warm smooth tones at a great price. Like all JJ tubes, it has a rugged construction that doesn’t compromise the sound of your amp. The JJ 12AT7 is a solid replacement for any 12AT7, ECC81, or 6201 tube. It can also be used to replace 12AX7 tubes in position 1 to reduce gain.

One tube good. One bad! You selling junk now!

I used these for cathode followers in an SVT-style bass amp I designed. They do exactly what I need them to: supply a huge, immaculate signal to the power section. I prefer JJs to Chinese or Russian tubes; they seem better and more consistently built.

The people at AES are always helpful and informative!!!
I am resurrecting my 1966 Fender Princeton Reverb amp.
The reverb was a little weak and so I replaced the 12AT7 and BINGO the reverb was back
and strong as ever!!!
Thank you all!

I'm rebuilding a 1973 Fender Quadreverb and decided to try some tube options. this JJ ECC81 is doing great. like everyone else I shop around to find a good deal and Antique Electronic Supply usually is where I wind up.

ordered set of tubes for resto of a 1956 Zenith am/fm...all NOS -EXCEPT the 12AT7 which was Slovokian 'manuf. This new tube was DEF...produced loud HUM when inserted in radio..suspect cathode leakage...PLUS the tube is HUGE..and barely fits between the 2 ifs..Ive asked for a replacement tube,,,and specified NOS if possible .

I use this tube for more gain in my Leslie speaker cabinet. This goes in the place of 12au7 tube, and this is what I use it for.
