Fantastic tube, I have used a few other brands of preamp tubes, the Tung Sol's have been the most consistent, best sounding of the lot !!!!!

I have always liked Tung-Sol especially the old American made ones and now the Russian made tubes. I have had very good luck with them.

I've been using Russian Tung-Sols for about eight years. As far as current production goes, they're my favorite preamp tube for what I'd call "musical" gain where you want to hear the notes bloom rather than just clip into distortion. In my opinion, they're fantastic for blackface Fenders and Vox amps if you're looking for drive, but I'd look elsewhere for Marshalls, tweeds, or fire breathing dragons. I've never had one fail outright, but I've had a couple that were microphonic.

This tube hits the spot as V1 in the Mark V. Very sweet.

So far every Tung Sol style of reissue tubes have been very good consistent quality and decent tone with a cost vs tone quality that is simply very difficult to beat...
The major consideration and favor I intially appreciated and sought this tube was the fact that I have yet to experience a microphonic tube!!!!
I install and roll many preamp tubes and these arw the tops for having the least microphonics of any preamp tube types today. It seems that at the timeframe of about three or four years ago I could not purchase any production tube that wasnt microphonic.... I spent much time searching out, purchasing and testing used many many literal hundred scores of vintage tubes due to such a problematic issues of microphonic tubes.
I have not had a single 12ax7 Tung Sol reissue appear microphonic. 2016 I bought so many brand new tubes that came directly out of the box new direct from the big three retailers. 98% microphonic rejection rate! Every retailer acting stupid. This retailer being especially difficult to overcome hurdles and policy regarding the return and rejection of microphonic tubes shipped.
Boy what a pleasant surprise once I purchased my first TungSol reissue and at a price that is the same and/or less than the other brands...

I own a Fender American Hand-Wired '64 CUSTOM PRINCETON REVERB which had some microphonic tubes.
After reviewing some possibilities I decided to completly retube with new re-issue Tung-Sol tubes (2x6V6, 3x12AX7, 1x12AT7 and 1x5AR4). This setup sounds a little warmer and more dynamic than the stock tubes in my opinion. I'm thrilled withe the results! Great service (ease of purchase and prompt shipping) from Antique Electronic Supply. Highly recommend!

Been rolling in my Reeves 225 bass amp & found I preferred the Tung Sol to the Mullard.
Less gank on the upper midrange. I will be trying a few other brands as well.
