9 pin miniature preamp tube (Amplification Factor = 100). The Chinese 12AX7B is very similar in tone to its standard Chinese cousin, but the Bs seem to average in at slightly lower gain and noise. For more information about our 12AX7 tubes, see our tech corner article on 12AX7s.

I would expect nothing more from Chinese tubes. They don’t sound great and they have a shorter lifespan than any other preamp tube I’ve seen. Save a little more $ and buy some JJ’s or literally anything else would be better.

Excellent tube,, quiet ,,pins are just a little thin but that is ok as long as you keep them clean and keep the plug in circuit clean it is less wear and tear on the circuit when you swap them out..

A bit cut off in the lowest guitar notes, clean bright highs, good mid punch, nice 2nd harmonic break up on overdrive, good price if it suits your amp and style. I do prefer JJs better lows. I used them in an P1 HO AX84 I built and modified. At the price they are worth giving a try out.

I have 4 of these and tonally they are all different. One has tight bass one has a loose bass response. One hasa glassy treble response. One is a little microphonic but i had fun trying them all in my Bugera v22. Twas a fun education for me!You just have to find the right spot for them.

Sonically these seem ok, the pins metal seems very cheap.
they were extremely tight going into the sockets, whether the tube or socket is to blame , I do not know, but I'll bet I will break the tube replacing it.
