Product Reviews

This is a great reproduction tube. I prefer it to many of the vintage 5U4s I've tried. It has a more immediate response and a full, strong character that some of the vintage examples lack. In other words it's more powerful than some vintage tubes.

This 5U4GB tube (we call them valves in Australia) has tested well in a vintage Hammarlund communications receiver. Tube looks to be well made and of good quality materials for the base and pins. Have since ordered some more.

Finally ran out of good used 5U4's , and 5U4GB's to stick in repair jobs , so I went with the Russians since I like their power tubes so well. No sparks. That's always a plus!

Unfortunately, This tube had an audible rattle & buzz mechanical noise. Maybe it was a fluke. I didn't risk exchanging for a 2nd and opted to change brands. Thank goodness that Antique Electric Supply is very supportive in quickly processing an exchange.
