Product Reviews
The tube arrived defective...a faulty heater.
Works perfectly (radio application), and for almost half the price of the lowest NOS 5Y3 rectifier!
These are perfectly good, functional 5Y3 rectifier tubes, and will work in antique radios needing a 5Y3, or 5Y3G, or 5Y3GT rectifier tube. I'm happy with this product.
Great sounding product highly recommend
Solid rectifier tube. I wanted something that ran voltages significantly lower than a 5AR4 in a 6v6 cathode biased amp. This fit the bill perfectly and is working well. I love the folks at Antique Electronic Supply. They always ship quickly and they've been there for me since the late '90s.
I acquired a 1937 Wards Airline radio chassis in working condition but with a couple of weak / bad tubes , the rectifier and magic eye.
The magic eye I was able to replace with one I had but the rectifier tube I decided to go with a brand new tube and the one from JJ Electronics fit the bill for it's price and quality. Working like a charm. Thanks.
Just the right amount of sag in either a 5E3 or a Valco 9035.
As far as I know these are the only authentic 5Y3 tubes being made anywhere in the world. The Sovtek and Chinese variations are not quite the same thing - though they are safe for most all amps that use a 5Y3 - the JJ supplies the correct B+ (LOWER). I haven't had any issues with the two i'm using. One can get a bad tube once in a great while but hey thats the great thing about buying new tubes from a dealer like AES ..you get one, you can send it back for replacement. No can do with 75 year old tube from Ebay..
I always test my new tubes on a tester before putting them in service. The new JJ 5Y3S tested weak, almost into the red on the tube tester.
Great value. Worked nicely in a silverface champ.
