Vacuum Tube - ECC823, JJ Electronics, Dual Triode
In the ECC823, Section 1 of the tube (pins 6, 7, and 8) is the low gain 12AU7/ECC82 spec (gain factor 17) and Section 2 (pins 1, 2, and 3) is the high gain 12AX7/ECC83 spec (gain factor 100).

Is this tube two different gain stages? first being like a 12 ax7 and second like 12 au7?
Asked by Anonymous on October 13th, 2015.
Yes, this is much like a ECC832/12DW7 but reversed. The first stage would be high gain and the second stage lower gain.

I need a tube where the triode on pins 6, 7 and 8 is the high-gain 12AX7 side, for V2B. And the section connecting to pins 1, 2 and 3 is the 12AU7 side, perfect for a cathode follower. Both your tube descriptions for the ECC832 / 12DW7 & 12DW7 / ECC832 indicate high gain 12AX7 on pins 1, 2, and 3. Help?
Asked by Anonymous on September 5th, 2018.
Although it can be interpreted in the ECC832 description that the first three pins are the high gain (12AX7) side, this isn't accurate. The first three pins of the ECC832 are the 12AU7 and pins 6, 7, and 8 are the high gain (12AX7) side of that tube. We hope this clears up any confusion.
