Product Reviews
Haven’t try yet(still building amp) but reasonably priced
The sound is perfect for my Fryette 50/50 in class A. Thanks to the team at A.E.S.
Very robust tube. Like a Timex watch, it takes a beating and keeps on ticking.
After reading reviews about how my Diamond Nitrox tube amp "should sound," I knew mine was off a bit. The matched burned in quad of JJ EL34 that my amp tech suggested did the trick. My Nitrox came alive and was immediately put in que to be used in the next recording session. Great deal on all my tube needs and always in stock at Antique Radio.
I am disappointed in these tubes. I have had excellent results with other JJ tubes, but have had at least 4 tube failures of the EL34 tubes. All fail the same way - they get leaky, which reduces the bias, which causes them to red-plate and die. I had one that arced over (that I have seen - others may have, but didn't "catch them in the act"). Additionally, they all seem to fail out of warranty, in spite of the fact that they have not been used much at all. this is an unacceptable cost to us as a servicer - profit margins are slim enough.
I have much better luck with the JJ 6CA7. It's a much more substantial tube, drops right in (although the bias is slightly different), sounds a little more robust, and have not had the failures I have had with the EL34. I think JJ has to look at their processes on their EL34 production line.
These matched and burned-in EL34's tracked each other very closely, less than 1ma difference over a wide bias range and perform very well. I'm happy with them.
It’s The best for price
Great tubes! Arrived in no time and the pair are very well matched.
I think these JJ EL34s are top-notch. They're solid power amp tubes that do their job, that is that they faithfully and transparently amplify well. I'm happy with them.
This is the tube for guys with early 70s Marshalls that are known for high plate voltage I have a 72 super bass with over 500 plate volts and this tube can take it I tried a well known popular tube that I wont mention and one of the 34s burnt after one gig I called the guys at tubesandmore and they were very understanding and I sent the quad set with the bad tube back and ordered the jjs and with a little eq twiking they work great thanks again tubesandmore.
