The 12BH7 will be too short for this retainer.

How do you install these?

These attach around your tube sockets. The top of the retainers attach to the exhaust tip of the tube to secure it in place.

The hole patten does line up on both of these parts and they should work with each other.

What is the easiest way to get these wire retainers over an EL84 tube? I've been using needle nose pliers to stretch the wire over the top of the tube due to the tight fit.
Asked by Anonymous on October 26th, 2018.
These retainers are designed for a tight fit to keep your tubes secure. Make sure the gap on the top of the retainer is facing the tube itself (with the pull tab facing the opposite direction) before you begin to put the tube in place. The ring on top should slip in place around the top of the tube.
Product Reviews
Purchased a pair of vintage soviet tube amps from Ukraine, during transit the tubes came out of their sockets and broke. After finding replacements I decided to mount these retainers on the chassis to keep that from happening again. They can be easily bent to fit shorter tubes.
Overall, this retainer works well with the "top mount" Belton sockets (AES part number P-ST9-600). As-is, the retaining wire is a little on the snug side. But there is a second set of holes on the bracket that let you loosen the tension a bit.
The tube retainer works very well. Also you can see the tubes light up.
