Vacuum Tube Set - for calibrating TV-7 Testers
This is a set of measured vacuum tubes for use in TV-7 vacuum tube tester calibration. The values for each vacuum tube will be measured and included for the purpose of calibrating your own TV-7 tester at home.
Steps for this calibration can be found online. Three tubes will be included:
- 6L6
- 6AU6
- 12AT7
These tubes are tested at the following settings:
Tube | Filament | Settings | Bias | Shunt | Range |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
6L6 | 6.3 | HS5-3481 | 23 | 0 | D |
Tube | Filament | Settings | Bias | Shunt | Range |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
6AU6 | 6.3 | ET1-5672 | 16 | 0 | B |
Tube | Filament | Settings | Bias | Shunt | Range |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
12AT7 | 12.6 | EV7-6080 | 10 | 0 | C |

Product Reviews
I bought eight very good and brand new never used NOS tubes from Antique Electronic Supply (AES) that will give my amplifier a classic "battleship" look, with the tubes spread across the top plate and the transformers located behind them Including a 5Z4 rectifier with the same metal structure. as the 6N7s. The eight tubes will be used to build a single-ended amplifier with two 6N7s connected in parallel and operated at 300 plate volts and 60-65 milliamperes of plate current to produce an audio output of about 10 watts.
I bought eight brand new shiny 6N7s from Antique Electronic Supply (AES). All 6N7s maxed out on a TV7D/U vacuum tube tester which had just been recalibrated using the tube set offered by AES. The tube set included a metal 6L6, a 12AT7, and a 6AU6. The 6L6 appears to be new and includes the calibrate value to be set on the TV7D/U and with a similar procedure for the other tubes, whether old or new. If the calibration tubes were tested on a TV7D/U that has calibration accuracy traceable to NIST, rest assured your tester is accurate and calibrated, and will be traceable to NIST too. I assume that AES has that traceability.
