A low microphonic tube built in the same rugged fashion as all JJ preamp tubes. This tube offers the classic warm 12AY7 sound with rich and balanced harmonics when pushed enough to break up. It’s a great choice for authentic tweed tones but can also help clean up amps when used in place of a 12AX7. Additionally, the JJ 12AY7 is a great replacement in 6072 microphones.

In the ECC823, Section 1 of the tube (pins 6, 7, and 8) is the low gain 12AU7/ECC82 spec (gain factor 17) and Section 2 (pins 1, 2, and 3) is the high gain 12AX7/ECC83 spec (gain factor 100).
