The Tube Amp Doctor 7025 / E83CC Highgrade is the premium selection of the RT003 ECC83-Cz for V1 positions. This tube works exceptionally well in the V1 position of high gain amps, combo amps, and phono/audio-amps. The Tube Amp Doctor 7025 / E83CC Highgrade is a miniature, high-mu twin triode with good gain, round deep bass, somewhat compressed mids and very smooth top end. Selected and recommended for guitar amps to smoothen up the tone or for HiFi to shape the body of sound more to “that” tube tone. Best for jazzy and thick clean as well as for vintage bass response. Alternative to the 12AX7 or ECC83. The JJ Electronic E83CC is a high quality dual triode that rivals the NOS version of this tube. The E83CC was originally designed as an audio specific dual triode with very low noise and microphonics. The JJ E83CC stays true to the original design with the signature thick frame grid and boxed plate. The rigid frame allows for tighter tolerances and closer construction which results in lower noise and increased stability. The JJ Electronic E83CC is a great choice for high fidelity amplifiers as well as guitar amps and studio equipment. The E83CC has the same pinout and amplification factor as a standard 12AX7 and can be used in any 12AX7 or ECC83 position. The Tube Amp Doctor 5Y3GT / 6087 is a small bottle rectifier designed to perform closely to the original rectifier tubes used in many 1950s tweed amplifiers. This rectifier offers high reliability due to its rugged construction and the Tube Amp Doctor Premium Selection process. The TAD 5Y3GT is a great tube for vintage style sag compression.

Electro-Harmonix has released a low noise, low microphonic version of the 12AX7 that meets all specifications required for the tube to be designated 7025.

The all-new designed TAD 12AX7 / ECC83 Redbase is a miniature, high-mu twin triode with very good gain. These tubes are selected and recommended for guitar amps to improve overall responsiveness and dynamics. Because of its cathode-to-heater voltage-withstand capability, this tube works perfectly as a cathode follower. Best for thick, clean tones as well as for those modern preamps where a deep low end is required as well as for sounds requiring fat midrange, detailed airy top end and lots of power from the preamp. Recommended for all positions in medium gain amps or for V2+ positions in high-gain amps. For V1 in general but especially for high-gain amps or phono/audio-amps, we recommend the new 7025 / E83CC Redbase Highgrade T-7025-RB-TAD.

9 pin miniature preamp tube (Amplification Factor = 100). This Russian tube is full bodied and well balanced. It has a high gain with a very smooth presentation. In overdrive, it is not quite as defined as the 12AX7-S-JJ, but it offers more crunchy fizz.

The JJ Electronic ECC99 is a noval based dual triode. This tube features a rugged construction and is also available with gold pins. The ECC99 is typically used as a driver for power triodes in 2A3 and 300B amplifiers but can also be used as a power tube in small amps and headphone amps. This tube can also be a functional replacement for 5687, E182CC, 6840, and 6BL7 tubes. Note: Sockets on some of these types could have a different set-up.
