The 5881 is a very reliable tube that is widely used in many current production tube amplifiers. It has a warm tone with good 'bite.' This modern version is able to tolerate higher voltages than its 5881 / 6L6 cousins. The Sovtek 5881 delivers a warm, round tone that "sweetens" any vintage or modern guitar amp design. Built to rigid military standards, the 5881 will tolerate higher voltages than any other 6L6. In fact, they're frequently used as replacements for the old 7027 model in vintage Ampegs. The TAD 6L6GCM-STR REDBASE is Tube Amp Doctor's latest 6L6GC; designed and built to be the best 6L6 type tube ever manufactured. A high claim, but Tube Amp Doctor is sure that they have achieved exactly that. In terms of sound, the TAD 6L6GCM-STR REDBASE produces the powerful but always defined bass response known from the legendary american built NOS RCA 6L6GC, with clear, unobtrusive and yet transparent highs.

The JJ Electronic 7027A offers the same reliability and tone as the JJ 6L6GC but with the correct pinout for vintage amplifiers that use 7027 tubes like older Ampegs. The TAD 6V6GT-STR Redbase combines the tonal characteristics of an NOS 6V6GT such as from RCA or GE with the current requirements. It is a heavy duty 6V6GT tube, which can handle a higher plate voltage than regular 6V6GT tubes. The TAD 6V6GT-STR Redbase shines with the typical NOS "sweet top end" and at the same time a strikingly dense and complex midrange. Especially with this midrange characteristic they achieve a liveliness in tone that only NOS 6V6GT achieve and otherwise remains unmatched. Even when pushed into saturation there are no harsh upper mids, which is frequently the case with other 6V6s. Sweet full-bodied tone with silky highs. Tube Amp Doctor recommends the TAD 6V6GT-STR Redbase for all 6V6 power amps when a full yet freely defined tone is desired. The ideal tube for Fender Deluxe Tweed 5E3 or Blackface Princeton Reverb amps, single ended Class A amps like the Fender Tweed Champ, Vibro Champ, Fender Champion 600 or the Univalve.

Blue glass envelope. The JJ Electronic E34L adds more power to a standard EL34 due to its higher grid voltage rating. This increase gives the tube more headroom and a tighter response on the low end. Due to many requests by fans, the Tung-Sol EL84/6BQ5 has been reissued. The Tung-Sol EL84 / 6BQ5 was a popular OEM tube for American-made EL84 / 6BQ5 guitar amplifiers, such as those built by Gibson and Harmony. Due to its rugged construction and conservative ratings, it is the most reliable current production EL84 type available for use in Vox AC-30 type amplifiers. In addition, its linearity and tone characteristic make it the ideal replacement for EL84 hi-fi amplifiers, such as those built by Fisher, Scott, and Harmon-Kardon. Tube measurements are as follows:

The 6BM8 contains both a power pentode and triode. It has a pentode plate dissipation rating of 7 watts with convection cooling.

A reproduction of the original tubes that captures the sound that made the KT77 famous. In their typical fashion, JJ has built this tube in a solid construction that is robust and highly reliable. This tube has more headroom than a typical EL34. This is an excellent tube for adding more power to the sound of an EL34 amp.

A different construction of the classic EL34 tube that offers a different tonal palette than the original. This tube has a more compact plate structure than standard EL34’s. The JJ EL34 II has an increased low to low-mid end with plenty of headroom to spare. The JJ EL34 II is stronger than the original but not harsh sounding in any way.

The JJ Electronic 5881 is very similar to the 6L6GC but with a plate dissipation of 23W rather than 30W. Another physical difference is the shorter bulb. These tubes have a soft and balanced response that sounds great in both guitar amps and hifi equipment. The JJ 5881 will work in any amp that uses 6L6 tubes.

A true to form reproduction of a classic tube that will work in most EL34 amps. The 6CA7 is often considered the American cousin to the British EL34. Sonically, this tube is closer to a 6L6 than an EL34 but without the sometimes harsh high end of the 6L6.
