The TAD 6L6WGC-STR is a remake of the small bottle clear-top GE6L6GC and has the same warm lower midrange and silky top end as the classic GE versions of the 1950s and 60s. Like the historic RCA 5881, this tube features a small bottle enclosure, clear top and side getter. The TAD 6L6GCM-STR and the TAD 6L6WGC-STR have our exclusive beefed up cathode coating, gold grid wire, double getter construction, no-noise filaments and 1.2mm thick heavy duty glass.

The TAD EL34-STR REDBASE™ is a glass envelope pentode with a plate dissipation rating of 25 Watts with convection cooling. It is intended for audio frequency power amplification service in either pentode, ultralinear or triode connection and single ended or push-pull/parallel applications.
The TAD EL34-STR REDBASE™ is designed to be a direct replacement for any EL34 / 6CA7 / KT77 or equivalent. The 5881 is a very reliable tube that is widely used in many current production tube amplifiers. It has a warm tone with good 'bite.' This modern version is able to tolerate higher voltages than its 5881 / 6L6 cousins. The Sovtek 5881 delivers a warm, round tone that "sweetens" any vintage or modern guitar amp design. Built to rigid military standards, the 5881 will tolerate higher voltages than any other 6L6. In fact, they're frequently used as replacements for the old 7027 model in vintage Ampegs. Extremely consistent from piece to piece.

The JJ Electronic 7027A offers the same reliability and tone as the JJ 6L6GC but with the correct pinout for vintage amplifiers that use 7027 tubes like older Ampegs. At 30W, this tube delivers plenty of headroom. The highs are clear and responsive with warm mids and tight solid lows. The TAD 6V6GT-STR Redbase combines the tonal characteristics of an NOS 6V6GT such as from RCA or GE with the current requirements. It is a heavy duty 6V6GT tube, which can handle a higher plate voltage than regular 6V6GT tubes. The TAD 6V6GT-STR Redbase shines with the typical NOS "sweet top end" and at the same time a strikingly dense and complex midrange. Especially with this midrange characteristic they achieve a liveliness in tone that only NOS 6V6GT achieve and otherwise remains unmatched. Even when pushed into saturation there are no harsh upper mids, which is frequently the case with other 6V6s. Sweet full-bodied tone with silky highs. Tube Amp Doctor recommends the TAD 6V6GT-STR Redbase for all 6V6 power amps when a full yet freely defined tone is desired.
