Can the white wire be stained with a Sharpie, or some other dye?

The cloth covering is wax coated, so it will not take ink or other dyes well.

Is the white version able to be dyed or will a coating on the insulation preclude doing so? Thank you.

This wire is wax coated and will likely reject dyes.
