High quality USA made Gavitt. This wire features an outer waxed cotton braid over a celanese braid. The wire is stranded 22AWG with a tinned overcoat (topcoat) so no additional tinning with a soldering iron is required for use. Sold by the foot.

What gauge wire is used in guitar cavities to hook up potentiometers, and ground wire for all components?

This 22G wire is great for that application.

Is this the best wire for amplifier builds? Except for the 18awg where required
Asked by Anonymous on September 8th, 2021.
"Best" is a rather ambiguous trait. Depends on the application and of course alot of weight on personal preference. For my own amp building tasks, this looks to be the right stuff for me. It is the right gauge, it is stranded but pre-tinned, so it is easy to work with as it has the flexibility of being stranded but the tinning keeps it just stuff enough to hold a bend or stay in place. The wire is simply cut to size with no additional prep no stripping as you simply push back the cloth to expose the pre-tinned strands that require no twisting, tinning or fighting to thread the wire thru a terminal eye or wrap around a post with no loose strands. It's ready to solder.
I don't know if it's the best but it seems like it would be good wire to build a handwired amp with.... * As long as it is true push back cloth covered and not that cloth over vinyl kind. By the diameter that they give in the specifications it appears to be the real stuff.

This is true cloth covered wire and not vinyl insulated wire topped with cloth braid?

This is authentic cloth covered wire and does not have any vinyl insulation.
Product Reviews
This wire is a near-perfect match for the Hallicrafters SX-100 I'm restoring - just the right diameter, and pre-tinning make it easy to solder. I you like, just push back the covering to expose the wire as opposed to stripping it off. I do wish brown and purple were available though.
