On AC the power cord'plug should be tried in both its possible positions in the receptacle, and left in the position that gives
least hum. On DC the receiver will work in only one position of the plug in its reeeptac e.

THE ANTENNA
A 20 ft, antenna hank is attached to the receiver. In metro olitan areas it may be necessary to uncoil only a portion of the
antenna to obtain satisfactory reception. For maximum pic up uncoil the antenna hank the full length. Do not attach it to
a water ipe, radiator or other rounded ob'ect. So doing may result in hum and possibly a burned out antenna coil. It
ou are ocated some distance rom a hroa casting station, nr i local noise from electrical equipment is high, reception will
greatly improved by the addition of an outside antenna which may he connected to the end of the hanlr.
This receiver is designed to operate without a ground connection and no attempt should he made to use one.

"Since the antenna section of the variable has no trimmer, the rotor of the variable should be rocked back and forth on both

sides oi 1400 Kc while adiusting the oscillator trimmer for maximum out ut. This is to obtain the combination of rotor

and trimmer setting to give perfect trucking of the two sections of the "trials e condenser and consequently give maximum

Always keep the output from the test oscillator at its lowest possible value to make _the AVC action of the receiver ineHective.
